Balakkom Story
1996
Our history begins at the end of the 20th century with the sewing of blankets in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. The idea of creating TEP brand was born, which would give people quality and affordable home textiles. The name TEP comes from "warmth" (Ukr.). Fourteen people were working on an everyday favourite thing at the time. The blankets were sewn on two single-needle quilting machines.
2000
We moved to a new, large square for the production and the head office. In addition, Balakkom purchased new first computer-automatic machines for various designs and new product categories expansion. And in 2001, we started producing pillows.
2002
We bought an Italian multi-needle quilting machine Meca, which allowed us to quilt more technological blankets, making them even better. At this time, the company also began the production of bedspreads. And in 2003, Balakkom launched the collection of TEP bedlinen sets.
2007
We are buying a German Dilo machine to produce non-woven heat-sealed material. It increased the range and production of blankets, mattresses and bedspreads.
2009
The company has purchased the first automatic line for filling pillow covers with various raw materials, including siliconized balls made of polyester hollow fibers.
2010
Balakkom bought an automated line to produce quilts: Asseline-Thibeau combing machine for duvets and Mammut multi-needle quilting machines.
2012
We purchased two additional machines for the production of blankets and mattresses, and the new equipment for filling covers for pillows with ultra-thin fibers in the following year.
2017
Balakkom created the Balak Home luxury brand that aligns with European standards. This brand was first presented in Germany and is still popular there.
2018
Balakkom manufactures 30 types of blankets and duvets, 50 types of pillows, eight types of bedspreads, 20 mattresses, and four segments of bed linen and is among the leaders in the home textile market in Ukraine. The company has about 500 employees and repeatedly won certificates and victories in the nominations "Best Quality" and "Best Products." We are ISO 9001 and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.
2022
Our mission is to provide everyone with healthy sleep and make them happier and more successful. The TEP brand and Balakkom revealed a new look. The launch of the Dream brand based on European standards and trends is being started.
